Short Course Description

During our course, we will read and analyze the writings of Pan African thinkers that were written since the mid-nineteen century to these days. We will examine various currents that developed in the Pan African movements, such as the religious current, the intellectual-cultural current, the political-continental current, and others. Special emphasis will be given to the Islamic dimension of Pan African thinking. Through reading these writings, we will examine the connections developed between Africans in the continent and the Diaspora, as well as thinkers within Africa.
