Short Course Description

The course will focus on the modern and contemporary history of Egypt since its independence until the Arab Spring revolution. The main issues that will be discussed during the course are: the changing Egyptian collective identity, Pan Arabism during Gamal 'Abd al-Nasser's era, Egyptian- Israeli relationship, The Muslim Brotherhood, and the Arab Spring revolution(s).
