Short Course Description

This course introduces students to the field of developmental psychology and explores how the human mind changes and grows throughout life - from infancy to adulthood. We will look at how people learn to interact with others, form relationships, communicate, and understand the world around them.
Students will become familiar with key ideas and major theories of psychological development, as well as the biological foundations that support mental and emotional growth. We will follow the main stages of cognitive, emotional, and social development across the lifespan. In the final part of the course, we will also discuss how life events - such as the COVID-19 pandemic, trauma, or war - can affect healthy development.
