Short Course Description
Prerequisites: 1. Third-year students; 2. Empirical Research Methods course.
The central objective of the seminar is to provide insights and intuition (from both rational economic thinking and socio-psychological economics) regarding real estate and housing issues. In a series of class meetings, student will be presented with questions and solutions pertaining to real estate and housing. Following a number of class lectures, student will work independently (in pairs) on their class project that will include: (a) raising an empirical question related to real estate and housing markets; (b) proposing empirical methods to analyse the research question; (c) writing up a final research report that describes phases (a) and (b) and the outcomes of the empirical work. The final project will include, among others, a relevant literature review, description of the research methods, data description, and discussion of the empirical results. The independent work will be accompanied by periodic meetings with the instructor of the seminar.
