Short Course Description
Prerequisites:
Second and third year students will be accepted with an average of 80 or higher in the basic courses and subject to an acceptance process. There may also be personal interviews with the candidates. The registration process will be published later.
In this course, students will learn an introduction and apply basic techniques of business consulting to sharing economy platforms. Sharing Economy (sometimes referred to as cooperative economy or shared economy) is a socio-economic model in which networks and platforms enable people and organizations to collaborate, access existing resources, capabilities and skills and thereby create unique value. The sharing economy is one of the most fascinating phenomena in the business world today, and companies that use this tool, such as Uber, airbnb, TripAdvisor, and YouTube are fundamentally changing industries and industries.
During the course, we will learn some of the unique facets of sharing economy platforms and the specific challenges they face, such as: managing prosumer communities, creating trust between users, choosing suitable business models and more. We will also learn methods, tools and about the dilemmas faced by consultants and on the other hand, students will implement (in groups, under the guidance of a professional strategic consultant) a business consulting project for platforms (Learning by doing), while combining sustainable, social and environmental considerations. The course is suitable a) for distinguished students who are considering to join the world of consulting, b) for those interested in sharing economy and c) for students who work or may work with business consultants.
