Short Course Description
Childhood sexual abuse, as well as sexual assault in adulthood, are one of the most common and severe social phenomena. Its implications are broad and affect a variety of areas of life, functioning, quality of life and mental health.
The aim of this course is to give basic knowledge and a sense of ability to social workers in the therapeutic encounter with women and men affected by sexual trauma. The course is built on the interweaving of longitudinal observation (stages of the intervention process while highlighting the types of sexual trauma) and lateral observation (various issues that accompany the treatment in all its stages). This will enable both orientation in the planning, execution and evaluation of the intervention and the ability to identify and position oneself in front of typical processes within the therapeutic context. The ideological and therapeutic perspective of the course is feminist and so is the reading of the material.
The course is intended both for social workers who are directly involved in the treatment of women and men who are victims of sexual trauma and for social workers who do not work directly with sexual trauma but want to gain basic knowledge and tools to be intentional and trauma-aware social workers.
The grade is based on a home test 100%
