Short Course Description
The seminar focuses on various aspects of coping with physical illness and disability and their implications for social work in the health system.
Study subjects:
Central theoretical approaches and studies in the field of coping with and adapting to physicall illness throughout the life cycle with an emphasis on social, cultural and gender aspects.
Familiarity with the methods of work unique to the field: approaches to bio-psychosocial assessment, short-term interventions, hospital discharge planning, long-term interventions among patients with chronic illnesses and interventions in end-of-life situations.
Acquiring skills to intervene in times of stress and crisis.
Acquaintance and critical examination of the roles of social work in health systems with an emphasis on the unique role of the social worker in a multi-professional team.
Acquiring knowledge about individual, group, community practice and aspects of health policy.
Learning and processing the therapist's unique experience in the field of health and its consequences.
