Short Course Description
The course will introduce the main uses of nanotechnology as a solution to environmental problems in the field of energy saving and generation, environmental sensors, and water and air treatment. following a brief introduction to nanotechnologies, the course will critically discuss the future of technology, and the ability to integrate it into industrial and environmental systems. The course is divided into 3 main chapters: (1) Nanotechnology: basic chemical-physical properties, synthesis, and characterization, (2) environmental applications of nanomaterials and discussion of study cases from the literature, and (3) environmental effects of nanomaterials (fate, transport, and nanomaterial toxicity in the environment).
