Short Course Description

Credit Points: 3.5
Prerequisites: Mechanics of Solids (2)
Traction and stresses analysis, Cauchy theorem and equations. Displacements and Strains analysis, compatibility equations. The mechanical behavior of elastic solids. The governing equation for the theory of Elasticity. Plane strain and stress problems, and the bi-harmonic equation. Bending of cantilevers. Torsion of bars. The governing of equation in polar coordinates. Thermal stresses. Introduction to plasticity
