Short Course Description
The hippocampus and the amygdala constitute two of the most popular model structures for researching the neuronal substrates of memory formation. The objective of the course is to present in a concise and simplified manner the properties of these two structures from different methodological viewpoints, thus creating a comprehensive image of their unique characteristics. Furthermore, the course will explore through these structures the most recent knowledge and theories of how memory might be encoded in the mammalian brain.
