Short Course Description

Biotechnology of Plants Approaches in Molecular Genetics

Lectures: 26 lectures (2h each)

Grade: final exam

Course objective: Introduce basic approaches in molecular genetics and plant biotechnology. The need to accelerate crop breeding efforts has never been greater as the world population continues to grow whilst the negative impact of climate change increases. Lectures will cover topics such as plant molecular genetics, plant cell biology, super-resolution and imaging techniques, molecular engineering, gene editing, phylogenetic trees, and more.
