Short Course Description
This unique course will enable bachelor student to gain hands on experience in highly advance sequencing techniques. The course will combine theoretical and practical sessions and will cover seminal studies that utilized advance sequencing methodologies. During the course, the students will prepare libraries based on samples that were obtained from their oral microbiome. These libraries will sequenced at the genome research unit at Tel Aviv University and the students will learn how to bioinformatically analyse the generated data.
All course sessions will be concentrated during the last week of the exams session,
i.e., 26-2-2023 until 3-3-2023 (although slight changes are possible). Teaching & hands-on takes place during the entire day (morning thru evening). Please note, this course requires great effort by the students and as the course includes bioinformatic components, it is recommended that the students will have previous experience in coding and willingness to learn new computational approaches.
Pre-requirements: Genetics, Molecular Biology Lab (or another lab), Intro to Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology
Full syllabus will be available to registered students only
