Short Course Description
Background: Plants have always been at the forefront of scientific research due to their critical role in the global system and their importance for mankind. Plant research has been further increased in the past decade due in part to the need to increase food production, and the increasing interest in cannabis for medical and other purposes. The goal of the course is to expose students to the scope of basic and translational research in plant sciences.
Course structure: The course includes 13 lectures in various aspects of integrative plant research. The talks will be delivered by faculty members of the School of Plant Sciences and Food Security, and by chief scientist of Israeli AgTech companies. Each lecture will include presentation of the topic, the scientific challenges, potential solutions and commercial applications.
