Short Course Description

The course describes innate immunity mechanisms against viral infections and the ?arms race? between host innate immunity and viral immune evasion. The course focuses on cell-autonomous innate immunity concerning viral infections. General topics include but are not restricted to, sensing of pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) by pathogen-recognition receptors (PPRs), intrinsic immunity, interferon signaling, and interferon-stimulated genes (ISGs), TRIM proteins, HIV, respiratory RNA viruses. The teacher and the students present selected topics and scientific papers. Most, if not all, of the classes are delivered as Journal Club discussions. The classes are taught in English.
